Jonathan Levin
Co-Founder and CEO
Trained as an economist, Jonathan began studying cryptocurrencies over a decade ago, and co-founded Chainalysis in 2014. He is a thought leader in the industry, regularly speaking at events worldwide, and has testified multiple times before the U.S. Congress on the subjects of national security and blockchain technology. He is a trusted advisor to the largest companies and governments globally on the opportunities and risks of cryptocurrencies.
Sarah Ward
Chief Legal and Administrative Officer
Sarah is Chief Legal and Administrative Officer at Chainalysis where she oversees a range of functions including Communications, Compliance, Legal, People, Policy, Privacy and Security. Sarah is passionate about helping companies navigate novel business challenges and execute on innovative growth strategies. Prior to joining Chainalysis, Sarah was General Counsel at Sisense, where she advised on all aspects of their growing business. Before Sisense, Sarah was the Assistant General Counsel at MongoDB where she guided the company through hyper-growth and their successful IPO. Sarah started her legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York.
Omesh Agam
Chief Information Security Officer
As the Chief Information Security Officer, Omesh leads the company’s global security team, including security engineering, operations and compliance. Omesh has more than 20 years of experience in information security, having served as CISO at high-growth technology companies Celonis and Appian.
Bas Lemmens
Chief Revenue Officer
Bas Lemmens has been with Chainalysis since 2021. Prior to Chainalysis, Bas was Vice President and General Manager of VMware’s Modern Applications Business Unit in EMEA, managing the Tanzu portfolio of products and services. This position followed his role as VP and General Manager for EMEA at Pivotal Software, which VMware acquired in December 2019.
Bas’s extensive experience in IT is marked by a strategic blend of business acumen and technological expertise. Educated in Automation and Computer Science in the Netherlands, he began his career as an officer in the Royal Netherlands Airforce, where he ascended to Head of Communication and Information Systems.
Jacob Illum
Chief Scientist
Jacob has chased bugs in distributed systems in academia and business for many years, and enjoys throwing that experience at the ever-growing pile of challenging, never-before-solved problems in the fast-evolving field of blockchain.
Gerd Behrmann
Chief Engineer
Before joining Chainalysis in 2016, Gerd left a promising academic career in formal computer science (boring) to work for 10 years on large scale geographically distributed storage for science related projects (CERN). Gerd is passionate about code quality, performance, and protocols.
